Dental Implant Surgery

What Are Dental Implants:

Dental implant is tiny titanium post, surgically placed into the jaw bone where tooth is missing. The bone bonds with the titanium. Titanium post acts as a tooth root, and provides a strong foundation for artificial tooth, matching your natural teeth.

Why Choose Dental Implants:

  • Improved appearance and comfort – implants look and feel like your own teeth.

  • Improved chewing and speech – with poor-fitting dentures, the teeth can move, causing you to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak without the worry that teeth might slip and eat your favorite foods with confidence and without pain.

  • Improved oral health – nearby teeth are not altered to support the implant, like dental bridge.

  • Improved self-esteem – implants will restore your smile and help you feel better about yourself.

  • Durability – implants are very durable and will last for many years.

  • Convenience – removable dentures are just that, i.e. removable! Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing them, as well as the need for messy adhesives.

What to Expect: The Dental Implant Surgery

  • Consultation – we will take 3D imaging, assess your bone health, and talk through your treatment goals. The tooth will get removed and bone grafting might be performed. Following two to four months of healing, the implant will be placed.

  • Phase I Dental Implant Surgery – implant is placed and for period of three to six months following surgery, the jawbone gradually bonds with the implant.

  • Phase II Dental Implant Surgery – the oral surgeon will uncover the implant and attach small post, which will act as anchor for the artificial tooth.

  • Final restoration (crown, bridge, or denture) will be attached to the implant by your dentist.

Types of Dental Implants We Offer:

Every smile is unique, that’s why we offer a range of dental implant solutions, personalized to your needs:

  • Single tooth implant: each prosthetic tooth attaches to its own implant.

  • Implant-supported bridge can replace two or more teeth and may require only two implants.

  • Full arch and All-on-4 dental prosthesis replaces all the teeth in your upper or lower jaw.

  • Immediate implant replaces the removed tooth on the same day as tooth extraction.

Are You a Candidate for Dental Implants:

In most cases, anyone healthy to undergo a routine minor oral surgery, can be considered for a dental implant. If your mouth is not ideal for implants, ways of improving outcome, such as bone grafting, may be recommended.

How Painful Is Dental Implant Surgery:

Most people have very little discomfort involved in the procedure, and report that implants involve less pain than a tooth extraction. After the dental implant, mild soreness can be treated with over-the-counter pain medications.
