Meet the Doctor
Dr Norris is board certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with extensive and comprehensive list of trainings and accomplishments. After graduating Magnum Cum Laude in Biochemistry from California State University Fullerton, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCLA School of Dentistry. Dr. Norris completed Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Internship at Harvard University and continued her specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Boston University/ Boston Medical Center.
During residency she received extensive training in dental implant surgery, trauma, facial reconstruction, orthognathic, cosmetic, cleft/craniofacial and cancer surgeries, as well as training in all aspects of anesthesia administration. The training also included General Surgery and Anesthesia. During these years, she combined her specialty education with intensive research work. She has authored publications regarding her clinical interests, including bone grafting, treatment of facial traumas and gunshot injuries, TMJ surgery, as well as oral tumor surgery.
Due to her broad expertise in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Norris has privileges and regularly performs maxillofacial trauma surgeries in Adventist Health Hospital in Bakersfield. In her private practice, she provides full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures, utilizing latest advanced technology, such as navigation, cone beam 3D technology, photogrammetry and intraoral scanning.
Whether she is working in her private practice or is treating patients in the hospital, Dr. Norris’ main passion in life is helping people. She went on multiple trips to Mexico and Ukraine for humanitarian reason for particular interest in performing surgeries for children afflicted with cleft and craniofacial deformities.
Dr. Norris resides in Bakersfield with her family. She enjoys various activities including yoga, sailing and mountain biking; as well as arts – opera, music and theatre, painting and making embroideries.
